The Challenge of Customer Meetings
I work in B2B enterprise software sales, handling customer discovery, product demonstrations, business negotiations, and project discussions. These meetings often involve detailed requirements, customer questions, and follow-up actions that are important to moving deals forward.
Previously, I relied on manual notes to capture key information. I had to listen to customers, participate in discussions, and write things down at the same time. After each meeting, I also needed to organize my notes and update customer follow-up records in our CRM. This took time and sometimes made it difficult to capture every important detail.
I wanted to spend less time taking notes during meetings without missing customer requirements that could affect future conversations.
Why I Tried MeetingMinutes
I started using MeetingMinutes because its meeting summaries and action items offered a practical way to review customer conversations after they ended. Instead of relying entirely on my own notes, I could use AI-generated meeting notes as a starting point for follow-up.
How I Use MeetingMinutes
When a customer meeting begins, I start MeetingMinutes and focus on the conversation. Afterward, I review the meeting transcription and summary, paying particular attention to customer requirements, questions, concerns, and next steps.
I then use this information to prepare customer follow-up records, adding my own judgment where necessary. When I need to revisit a discussion after some time has passed, I can also refer to historical meeting records to find previously discussed details.
The combination of transcription, AI meeting summaries, customer requirement extraction, and action items helps me organize information without having to reconstruct the entire conversation from memory.
What Could Be Better
Some customer names, product names, and industry-specific terms occasionally require manual correction. I would also like to see deeper integration with CRM systems and other sales tools to make the follow-up process more seamless.
What Changed in My Workflow
Previously, my first task after a meeting was organizing my notes. Now, I usually start by reviewing MeetingMinutes' summary and then add my own assessment.
This reduces repetitive work and makes it easier to revisit customer requirements when preparing follow-ups. I still need to verify details and make my own decisions, but I spend less time on manual note-taking and more time focusing on customer conversations.
For me, the biggest difference is simple: MeetingMinutes helps me capture and review meeting information, so I can focus more on understanding customer needs and moving sales discussions forward.
