The Challenge of Keeping Track of Ideas
As a marketing leader responsible for brand promotion, campaign planning, and team management, I attend creative meetings, advertising project discussions, vendor meetings, and event reviews.
These conversations often move in different directions. New ideas emerge, feedback changes earlier suggestions, and decisions develop through discussion. I used to rely on handwritten notes, but it was difficult to capture every valuable detail while keeping up with the conversation.
More importantly, I wanted to remember not just what we decided, but why. When reviewing a project later, the reasoning behind a decision can be just as useful as the decision itself.
Why I Tried MeetingMinutes
I started looking for a meeting assistant that could help preserve discussions and make them easier to review. I tried MeetingMinutes because it could turn scattered conversations into clearer meeting summaries.
My goal was not to make meetings shorter. I wanted to keep important ideas accessible without spending too much time organizing notes afterward.
How I Use MeetingMinutes
During creative meetings, I turn on recording and let the team discuss ideas naturally. Afterward, I review the summary, check important creative suggestions, confirm final decisions, and assign action items to team members.
I also use meeting transcription and key-point extraction to revisit details that might otherwise be missed. When reviewing a project, I can search historical meeting records to find earlier discussions and better understand the context behind previous decisions.
This gives me a practical workflow: record the discussion, review the summary, make corrections where needed, and organize the next steps.
What Could Be Better
Creative conversations can be fragmented, and automatic summaries do not always fully understand the context. Sometimes I need to revisit the original discussion and adjust parts of the notes to ensure they accurately reflect what the team meant.
For this reason, I treat AI-generated notes as a starting point rather than a final record that requires no review.
What Has Changed
MeetingMinutes has reduced the work I need to do after meetings and helped preserve ideas that might otherwise be overlooked. Project reviews are also easier because I can search previous meeting records instead of relying entirely on memory.
For me, the biggest difference is not that meetings have become shorter, but that the work afterward has become simpler. I can spend less time organizing notes and focus more directly on team follow-up and project decisions.
It does not eliminate the need for human judgment, but it gives me a more organized way to keep track of discussions and put their outcomes to use.
